What business owners ask.
What is Comnexiom's primary focus?
Managed IT. Comnexiom is a managed IT services provider based in Atlanta, Georgia: help desk, cybersecurity, Microsoft 365, networks, devices, backups and IT projects for one flat monthly fee. From there we add AI automation (Digital Jedis) and IoT facility monitoring, plus security camera and structured cabling projects.
Does unlimited support mean every possible cost is included?
No. Unlimited IT support and IT projects are included. Your flat monthly fee covers unlimited IT support and unlimited IT projects. Not included: IoT sensors, security cameras, structured cabling, and third-party services such as internet and phone lines. Hardware, software and licenses are sold separately. A one-time onboarding fee applies only to our Elite Care Managed IT offering.
What size businesses do you work with?
Our Managed IT sweet spot is businesses with 10 to 50 employees, especially non-technical startups, manufacturers, professional services firms (CPA, legal, engineering) and construction companies. Larger companies with internal IT work with us through Co-Managed IT.
Can you work with our internal IT team?
Yes. Co-Managed IT gives larger companies with internal IT the specific skill sets, better tool stack or extended support coverage they need, while the internal team keeps its knowledge and decisions. See /it/co-managed-it/.
Where do you work?
We're based in Atlanta, Georgia and work mainly in Alpharetta and across North Atlanta, including Roswell, Johns Creek, Cumming and Sandy Springs. We also support businesses across the Southeast and nationwide.
Can you help outside Atlanta?
Yes. Much of Managed IT is delivered remotely, and we support businesses across the Southeast and nationwide. When on-site work is needed outside North Atlanta, we coordinate it and stay responsible for the result.
What is the Free IT Risk Review?
A free 30-minute Microsoft Teams conversation with founder Jeff Davis. We look at security, backups, Microsoft 365, network, devices and your current IT setup. You leave with one priority risk, one opportunity, one next step and a short written summary. No scans, no system access, no obligation. See /free-it-risk-review/.
Are the case studies customer success claims?
No. They're case studies of real operating problems: the problem, what happened, and how Comnexiom approaches the same situation. Names and identifying details are left out, and we don't publish invented numbers or testimonials.
Do Digital Jedis send emails or posts on their own?
No. Digital Jedis prepare drafts and recommendations. You or a named person on your team approves every outgoing email, post, invitation and call. AI automation is scoped and priced separately from Managed IT.
Do sensors replace required alarms or safety systems?
No. IoT sensors add earlier awareness of conditions such as leaks, temperature and power. They supplement your operating procedures and do not replace required fire, life-safety or security systems. IoT is an add-on, priced separately from Managed IT.
How do we begin?
Book a Jedi. That books your Free IT Risk Review with Jeff Davis, and you can bring any IT, AI or facility question.
Is Comnexiom the same as COMNEXIA or Conexiom?
No. Comnexiom is an Atlanta, Georgia managed IT, cybersecurity, AI automation and IoT company founded by Jeff Davis in 2022, and it's not affiliated with COMNEXIA or Conexiom.
The common boundary questions.
Are IoT, cameras, cabling or Internet included?
No. The unlimited-project offering covers IT-related projects only. IoT, security cameras, cabling and third-party services such as Internet are not included. All hardware, software and licenses are sold separately.
Can a project contain included and separate work?
Yes. An office move might need IT configuration alongside cabling, cameras, equipment and an Internet circuit. The proposal identifies the IT work and every separately quoted item before delivery.
Is Digital Jedi setup part of unlimited IT projects?
Digital Jedi discovery, design, setup and automation receive a separate scope and price. We define access, inputs, owner approval, testing and operating costs before a pilot.
Can IoT help a retailer or restaurant?
Yes. Temperature, water, occupancy, stock and service-request use cases can fit those businesses. The right sensor mix depends on the physical environment and who will act on the information.
Support and service scope
How do employees ask for IT help?
Use the agreed support channels, such as the portal, email or phone. Requests are logged so there is a record of the issue, its owner and the next update. Your agreement defines the supported users, devices and coverage.
What is the difference between remote support and onsite support?
Remote support lets a technician diagnose and work on an authorized device without visiting. Onsite support is for work that needs someone physically present. The service agreement defines which support is included and how onsite work is arranged.
What does a service level agreement explain?
A written service level agreement defines how requests are prioritized, the response and escalation process, and the responsibilities of each party. Response and resolution are different: acknowledging an issue does not mean the underlying problem is already fixed.
Can you monitor devices and handle updates?
Comnexiom can monitor hardware, operating systems, applications and performance, and manage maintenance and patching within the agreed service scope. Updates are evaluated and scheduled around the environment rather than leaving every employee to improvise.
Are all projects included in every support arrangement?
No. Project inclusion depends on the selected agreement and its written scope. Managed IT project coverage applies to IT-only work. IoT, cameras, cabling and third-party services have separate scope; hardware, software and licenses are sold separately.
Cybersecurity and account protection
What is endpoint protection?
Endpoint protection helps defend computers and servers against malicious software and suspicious activity. It works alongside patching, identity protection, limited administrator access, email defenses and recovery planning.
Can you help employees recognize phishing?
Yes. Security awareness training and phishing simulations help employees recognize suspicious messages and practice reporting them. The selected service scope defines the training and simulation program. People still need technical safeguards around them.
Why should our business use a password manager?
A password manager gives staff a controlled place to store and use credentials. It supports stronger, distinct passwords and reduces the habit of sharing passwords in messages or spreadsheets. Access, recovery and offboarding still need clear ownership.
What do SIEM and SOC mean in plain English?
A SIEM brings security events and logs together for review. A security operations center, or SOC, investigates security alerts and coordinates a response. These capabilities and their coverage depend on the agreed security service.
Does a security service automatically certify compliance?
No. Security tools, policies, testing and guidance can support compliance work, but they do not automatically establish certification or meet every requirement. Applicable obligations and the evidence needed should be mapped to your actual environment.
Microsoft 365, cloud and recovery
Can Comnexiom set up Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace?
Yes. Cloud setup can include company-owned accounts, domain configuration, email, calendars, collaboration and access controls. Comnexiom resells Microsoft 365 licensing; software and subscriptions are separate from service labor.
Can you help choose the right Microsoft 365 plan?
Yes. Start with the applications, identity controls, collaboration and security features employees need. Plans have different capabilities, so the choice should follow roles and requirements rather than giving everyone the same license by habit.
Can you back up servers, workstations and cloud information?
Yes. Backup options can cover servers, workstations and Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace data, depending on the selected solution and scope. The plan should define protected data, retention, recovery priorities and how restores are tested.
What is a backup and disaster recovery appliance?
A backup and disaster recovery appliance provides local backup and recovery capabilities. Some designs also replicate backups offsite. The right approach depends on the applications, recovery objectives, available connectivity and responsibilities for maintaining it.
Does moving to the cloud remove the need for backups?
No. Cloud availability and retention features do not answer every deletion, recovery or continuity need. Confirm what is protected, who owns recovery, how long information is retained and whether the required business workflow can be restored.
Networks, internet, phones and cabling
Can you manage firewalls, switches and Wi-Fi?
Yes. Comnexiom can plan and manage network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, Wi-Fi and remote access. Equipment selection and service scope should account for users, traffic, segmentation and future needs. Hardware and licenses are sold separately.
Who bills us for internet and VoIP service?
Comnexiom can resell, plan and support business internet and VoIP. The service provider bills you directly, not Comnexiom. Carrier service is a third-party service, and phones and other hardware are sold separately.
Can you help when our internet provider has an outage?
Yes. Comnexiom can help document the service, open and escalate provider cases, coordinate vendors and communicate status. Backup connectivity should be planned and tested in advance; an extra circuit is useful only when it reduces the relevant failure risk.
What should a structured cabling project hand over?
Agree on cable locations, terminations, labeling, testing and documentation before installation. The completed project should provide usable endpoint labels and the agreed test results so the next technician does not need a treasure map.
Why does PoE matter when adding access points or cameras?
Power over Ethernet carries power and data over network cable. The installed links, each device's requirements, the switch's power per port and total power budget, and the uplinks all need to support the planned installation.
Internal IT teams and technology planning
What can a co-managed IT partner take off our internal team?
Co-Managed IT can add selected monitoring tools, endpoint protection, support coverage, specialist engineering, documentation and project capacity. A responsibility matrix defines what stays with your team and what Comnexiom owns.
What does a Fractional CTO help us decide?
A Fractional CTO helps connect technology decisions to business priorities: risks, dependencies, lifecycle planning, vendors, projects and a practical roadmap. Leadership keeps decision authority while gaining a clearer view of what to do next.
Can you support a business with several locations?
Yes. Consistent account, device, network and documentation standards help a multi-location business coordinate support. Local connectivity and onsite requirements still need a site-specific plan.
Can you help a startup that has already bought some equipment?
Yes. We review the existing accounts, devices and setup, keep what works, and identify ownership, security and operational gaps. A launch or remediation scope should be agreed before replacing equipment or migrating information.
AI automation and IoT monitoring
What makes a useful first AI workflow?
Choose repeated work with reliable inputs, a measurable outcome, a named owner and clear exceptions. Digital Jedis can prepare drafts, summaries and recommendations using approved information, with people responsible for review and release.
What conditions can facility sensors monitor?
Common applications include water leaks, temperature, humidity, indoor air quality, occupancy, power and service requests. The useful starting point is a condition the business understands and a named person who can respond.
Is IoT monitoring included in Managed IT?
IoT monitoring is an add-on, scoped separately from Managed IT, and is also available on its own. Alerts are monitored 24x7 and go to a named person. Hardware, software and licenses are sold separately.
Can sensors work where there is no permanent internet?
Cellular-based gateways can provide connectivity at suitable job sites or temporary locations. Coverage, power, placement and the alert path must be checked for the actual site.
What happens after a sensor raises an alert?
The reading travels through a gateway to the monitoring platform. Notifications route to the agreed person or team, with acknowledgment, escalation and response responsibilities defined before deployment.
